There’s something about the “boutique” style that I’ve always loved. When it comes to travel, whether for business or pleasure, I’ve always gone out of my way to find small, local, and boutique-style hotels to stay in instead of large chain hotels. I have to admit that I definitely don’t mind five-star amenities-everyone deserves to be treated like a King or Queen for a day ones in a while. While this can be fun from time to time, overall I’d much prefer the personalization and charm of a boutique-style hotel. When I’m back at home, I try to bring that boutique-style charm to my business, as well.

On occasion, when staying at a small owner-operated hotel I get the opportunity to meet the owner, which is great. If I don’t see the owner, I still get the feeing that they’re deeply involved with the day-to-day operations of their business, communicating their expectations and constantly ensuring that ground-level employees are carrying out their high standards. Not only is the management staff often readily available, but more ground-level employees are given the ability to make decisions on an individual basis involving exceptions to a process. Everyone on staff is less worried about gaining a corporate office approval, and more concerned with providing guests with an excellent, memorable experience.

While large hotel chains are designed to give everyone the same high level of service, small hotels have the opportunity to design the experience with an individual in mind. While still providing a high level of service, they can cater it to each individual’s expectations and make the experience truly unique and special. Each small hotel has it’s own flavor and appeal, giving it a more personal feel and often catering to a niche market. They strive to give you a genuinely feeling that they interested in giving you the best possible experience. and I love getting the opportunity to get to know staff members and other guests in a small, more intimate setting.

When I decided to start Building Team Solutions, I knew that I wanted to use the boutique-style hotel model. I always knew that in order for us to best achieve our goals, it was important to define and focus on a niche industry, specifically the construction, facilities, manufacturing and industrial markets. By doing so, we’ve been able to develop an area of expertise- we truly understand the market and what our clients and candidates are looking for.  We constantly strive to develop improved techniques and strategies that cater specifically to our clients’ and candidates’ needs. We provide our clients with an experience that is carefully tailored to their needs, in hopes that they can rest assured knowing that we have a vested interest in their success and happiness. We want our clients to love their experience from the moment we first begin contact, much like a boutique hotel owner wants his guests to be happy from the moment they check in. We hope that our nonstop devotion to meeting a client’s needs and exceeding their expectations will encourage them to stay a while!
