Our company is attending  Women’s Business Council Southwest in Dallas, Texas. The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) provides the most widely recognized and respected certification in the United States for women’s business enterprises (WBE).  Incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, the mission of the Council was to provide and increase mutually beneficial procurement opportunities for women-owned businesses in corporate, government and institutional arenas, focusing on the north Texas area.

We are proud to be WBENC certified and a part of this event. Many people don’t understand that there still is a stereotype about the potential of women owned businesses. We are helping to break this stereotype. Many people don’t believe women owned companies can be as successful or financially stable as male owned companies. Our role with WBENC is to help promote other female owned businesses, like ours, to the world and dispel the stereotypes and myths.

AMEX dedicated an entire blog feature to gender-bending businesses, like ours.  The goal was to bring attention to women owned companies and women owned businesses that are typically male owned, like construction firms. You can read the article here: http://www.openforum.com/articles/gender-bending-small-businesses-that-break-stereotypes/

Our CEO, Britanie Olvera, recently said,” Hooray to everyone of my colleagues and peers at Business Works and the WBC women business council.  And to the large corporate sponsors, buyers and managers who realize that sometimes your best asset is a “good women by your side”. A ..woman owned diversified firm that is!”

If you’re a woman in business, and located in the Texas area, please consider joining our group. Let’s help dispel the myths that female owned businesses can’t achieve as much, if not more, than their male counterparts!
