Some people will tell you there are no signs provided before a person is fired. That is wrong. There are, in every company, three signs that signal you’re on the out and about to be fired. So, what are the signs?

1. You’re out of the loop. Yes, this is the biggest sign and it is usually accompanied by a gut feeling. If your responsibilities are dwindling, normal office banter feels awkward and people tend not to plan things when you’re around- you may be fired shortly.

2. New management. If a company has a new management team in place, chances are you’re going to be fired without making a mistake. Yes, the chances of new management bringing in new talent (regardless of your performance) is always going to be high. If you have a new manager then take notice- you may be find soon.

3. Bad review. This seems obvious but some people think bad reviews are handed out so pay raises don’t have to be. While an employer should always leave room for growth on a review, you reports shouldn’t be overall horrible. If your boss is notating more than one small issue on a review, he or she is seeking a replacement.

Being fired isn’t always the worse thing in the world. Many people have moved beyond being fired to do great things in life. As always, it all comes down to a matter of perspective.
