If you want to know if you’re a great business coach,  employee, or employer- see if you utilize the following tactics on a daily basis. Studies show these steps help you become a better professional on either the employer or employee side of business.

1.  You listen and you listen with curiosity. Your more motivated by why a person is voicing a concern than the actual concern.  The thinking behind this is that figuring out the why will lead to the truth behind the complaint or concern vs. just addressing the concern itself.

2. Repeat the concern with your take on it.  If you repeat the issue back to the person who just announced it, they can hear it for themselves and then justify if it really is important or not.

3. Help the other person develop a plan. If the person has concern after concern, note how to help and how you two can work together.

People often voice concerns or challenges within the work place because they feel they are not receiving proper support. You will not be able to believe the amount of positive benefits that come from taking these three simple steps!
