Are you happy with your current job? Pay attention is your answer is no. Work doesn’t have to be unpleasant. In fact, there are two steps you can take right now to help yourself be happier when at work.
First, let go of the past. We can’t change what has happened and there is no such thing as a time machine. So, you’re going to have to suck up bad decisions or horrible circumstances and figure out a way to move forward. If you’re unhappy being at a job because of the circumstances that led you to that job-know this…. it’s not the employer’s fault and the job doesn’t suck. Your attitude does. Let go of the past and make the best of your current situation.
Second, let go of fear. Being afraid of what might happen if you’re fired, not promoted, or if you stay at a job will only cause you anxiety and it will negatively impact your performance. Don’t be afraid to embrace change or try new things. I know this seems easier said than done- and it is. But, take a step forward and change or trying new things will become easier.
We have all had jobs that we hated, circumstances that were terrible, or dreams of doing something else. You can be happy and you can change your plight in life.
