Construction crews in Texas aren’t just building houses; they’re building the area’s economy.

Numbers released by the Texas Department of Workforce Services show there were 721,200 jobs created from 2011 to 2014. The Texas unemployment rate has been at or below the national rate for 85 consecutive months. Without the growth in Texas construction jobs in 2011, the national construction industry would have seen another year of job declines. Texas total construction employment increased by 27,100 during the year, for a solid 4.8 percent rate of growth. Statewide construction employment totaled 594,500 in August 2011 and continues to boom in 2014.

“Job growth and building permits all signal that the Texas economy continues to outpace the national economy”, said Texas Comptroller. “Over the past year, Texas added jobs in all of the 11 major industries, including construction.” The new numbers outline what cities and counties have seen gradually over the past few years: a major comeback in the construction industry.

In Texas we’re seeing quite positive growth in construction. The nice thing that we’re seeing is a renewed residential construction activity and permitting. There’s also a lot of commercial growth.

Without the growth in Texas construction jobs in 2011, the national construction industry would have seen another year of job declines.

Economists said construction growth translates into overall growth. New jobs not only in construction and the new activity that you see there, but it supports the rest of the economy in Texas and provides relatively healthy job growth that we’re seeing currently.

5) JSS- Jobsite Safety Supervisor for large commercial high profile projects in Austin Texas (2-3 positions). Each project will have multiple phases for multiple years. We seek qualified safety professionals who have experience as a Commercial Construction Safety Supervisor. This is a hands on role, directly on the project site, where your experience and duties will be to create, maintain and expand our company safety program through out the jobsite and to subcontractors & jobsite vendors and visitors.
